The Real Maestranza of Seville supports the 33rd Course on the Basic Principles of the Bullfighting Tradition

Aula Taurina is organizing a new edition of its educational program—sponsored by the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla—which will take place from November 18 to December 9 at the Sala Maestranza.

Bullfighting culture continues to play a prominent role in the activities of the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla. Once again, the Sevillian institution is supporting the study and promotion of bullfighting by sponsoring the 33rd Course on the Basic Principles of the Bullfighting Tradition, organized by Aula Taurina, which is part of the Seville Bullfighting School (Escuela de Tauromaquia de Sevilla).

Now in its thirty-third year, this initiative offers a fresh opportunity to delve into the historical, legal, technical, and human aspects that define the world of bullfighting.

The course is designed for students of the Seville Bullfighting School, as well as for enthusiasts and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the foundations of this tradition.

Seville: A Hub for Bullfighting Culture

Sessions will be held on Wednesdays, starting at 6:00 PM, between November 18 and December 9, 2026. The venue for the course will be the Sala Maestranza, located on Calle Circo in Seville.

The program will bring together professionals and specialists from various fields related to bullfighting, providing a comprehensive overview of its history, cultural significance, and technical elements.

A Program Featuring Prominent Figures from the Bullfighting World

The opening session will take place on Wednesday, November 18, and will feature two presentations.

First, Miguel Serrano—president of both Aula Taurina and the Seville Bullfighting School—will speak on the topic "The Seville Bullfighting School," highlighting the importance of training new generations. Next, María José Tena Cinto—an educator and psychologist—will deliver a lecture titled "Behind Every Dream, a Family," which focuses on the essential role the family environment plays in the personal and professional development of young people aspiring to become bullfighters.

The second session, scheduled for November 25, will feature José María Martínez Parras, vice president of *Aula Taurina*, who will present a talk on "Specific Legislation Regarding Bullfighting."

On December 2, the same speaker will lead a session titled "Key Milestones in the History of Bullfighting Since Manolete," exploring some of the events and figures that have shaped the evolution of contemporary bullfighting.

The course will conclude on December 9 with a presentation by Pepe Luis Vargas—a *matador de toros* and instructor at the Seville School of Bullfighting. His talk, "The Third Act: *Muleta* Maneuvers and the Final Kill," will focus on the technical and artistic aspects of this crucial phase of the bullfight.

Training: A Key to the Future of Bullfighting

With this thirty-third edition, *Aula Taurina* once again highlights the importance of education and the transmission of knowledge regarding bullfighting.

The support of the *Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla* underscores the value of these initiatives, which help introduce the history, technique, and culture of bullfighting to new generations and to any enthusiasts looking to deepen their understanding.

In this way, Seville maintains its position as a major hub for bullfighting culture, demonstrating that activity within the world of the bull continues even during the winter months—well beyond the events held in the bullring.

The Sevillian bullfighting tradition continues to look toward the future through education, culture, and knowledge.
